Right before making this photograph, I was huddled under a Foxtail Pine waiting out a wild hail storm. The camera was already set up covered in my Patagonia jacket. It was a bit disconcerting watching the camera get pounded by hail, but when I unzipped the jacket my 4x5 was bone dry. I love the quality of light in this image. Mount Conness and Mount Dana glow serenely as the river meanders quietly away.
